Our History

Druce was founded in 1822 by draper and upholsterer Thomas Charles Druce. The company started out as a furniture and antiques dealership based in London’s Marylebone district.

In the 1840s, Thomas acquired the furniture department at the nearby Baker Street Bazaar and when he died in 1864, his son Herbert Druce took over the business.

During the 19th century, the company expanded into a department store and an estate agency and today, real estate is the sole remaining part of the company, with Druce’s headquarters and six branch offices situated in the heart of the British capital.

2022 marks our bicentenary year and we are going from strength to strength, with the local knowledge, professional expertise and deep community connection that’s become a hallmark of our business.

At Druce, we pride ourselves on our reputation for trying to recognise and maximise the full potential of residential properties in Central London.

Our sales and lettings teams have exceptional, in-depth knowledge of prime residential property and new developments in the capital. They have worked through various economic climates and have a profound understanding of the property market.

With such a high level of expertise, you can rest assured we know the dynamics of the real estate business inside out.

When it comes to London-living, our agents have exceptional insight into their local areas — everything from transport links to schools, to the best local boutiques and cafés. In fact, their bedrock of expertise means they’re viewed as a trusted community presence.

The prime Central London residential market attracts buyers from all over the world, and Druce has the reach to showcase its prestigious properties globally. In addition to our London offices, we have regional headquarters in Singapore and Dubai, giving us presence in these local markets as well as further afield, across the Middle East and Asia. Together with online promotion, we have the potential to reach a worldwide audience.

Druce expands its London footprint with five new branches. Central London estate agency Druce has expanded its base with the acquisition of Bective, one of the capital's premier estate agencies. Established in 1822, Marylebone-based Druce has taken over all five of Bective's branches: Kensington, Chelsea, Brook Green, Ladbroke Grove and Notting Hill. The branch offices have been rebranded and now form part of the larger Druce business. Druce's UK MD Cory Askew, commented, "This acquisition has enabled us to rapidly expand our presence within Central London, increasing our footprint to six agencies across several prime locations. Bective’s heritage is aligned with our own, and we feel that the combined entity will allow us to reintroduce the Druce brand in the capital."
